Bring speech closer
A direct feed can reduce the effect of distance, room reverberation and surrounding noise. It helps the listener follow the source without relying only on the loudspeakers.
Bluetooth broadcast audio · Sydney & NSW
Bring presentation, venue and TV audio directly to compatible hearing aids, earbuds and headphones. Give listeners a choice of channel and their own listening level.
Explore the benefits, use cases and equipment behind Auracast—and how Masters Voice Technology can integrate a broadcast into your existing AV system.
01 / Understand the technology
Auracast is a broadcast capability within Bluetooth LE Audio. A transmitter sends an audio stream and information about the broadcast. Nearby compatible receivers can tune into that stream without the source establishing an individual paired audio connection with each listener.
A compatible phone, hearing-device app or other assistant can help the listener find and select the broadcast. The receiver then receives audio directly from the transmitter. The experience depends on the device and its software.
That creates a useful option for public and shared spaces: the same presentation can reach a visitor's compatible hearing aids, another person's earbuds and a venue loan receiver.
Look for explicit Auracast support. “Bluetooth 5.4” or “LE Audio” alone does not guarantee that a product can receive a broadcast.
02 / Why it changes the experience
The advantage is personal access to a useful audio feed. A well-designed microphone and listening mix remain the starting point.
A direct feed can reduce the effect of distance, room reverberation and surrounding noise. It helps the listener follow the source without relying only on the loudspeakers.
Visitors with supported hearing aids or headphones can listen through familiar equipment. Loan receivers provide another route for people without compatible devices.
Broadcast delivery avoids pairing the source separately with every attendee. Adding listeners does not require an additional paired stream for each person.
Suitable systems can carry separate presentation, interpretation or audio-description feeds. Listeners choose the broadcast relevant to them.
A TV can remain quiet in the room while compatible headphones receive its sound. Multiple screens can offer distinct broadcasts where the system is designed for it.
An appropriate transmitter can connect to an existing audio output. The room PA can continue operating while Auracast adds a personal listening pathway.
03 / New options for familiar spaces

Your training room already has microphones, a DSP and loudspeakers. Auracast can add a personal listening feed without replacing the whole room system. The important design task is deciding what people should hear, then checking that they can join and receive it reliably.
04 / Equipment and compatibility
There are installed professional systems, smaller TV transmitters and personal listening devices. Select equipment around the application, rather than the Bluetooth version on the box.
The TX2N provides two-channel broadcasting, balanced mic/line inputs, PoE and network management. A Dante version is available. RX1 loan receivers and charging docks support venue operation.

| Technology | Main role | Where Auracast fits |
|---|---|---|
| Conventional Bluetooth audio | Typically paired audio between a source and a listening device. | Broadcasts a source to many compatible listeners without individual source pairing. |
| Hearing loop | Delivers audio through a magnetic field to compatible telecoils or loop receivers. | Adds a Bluetooth listening route. Existing telecoil users still need appropriate access. |
| Audio over Wi-Fi | Delivers listening audio through a network to supported apps or receivers. | Uses Bluetooth for the listener's audio connection; Wi-Fi onboarding is not part of the broadcast itself. |
| Dante | Transports audio between AV equipment over an IP network. | Can feed a compatible Auracast transmitter. Dante handles equipment transport; Auracast handles personal listening. |

Masters Voice Technology can assess Auracast integration for commercial and public spaces across Sydney and NSW. We start with your existing equipment, the listening area and the people using it.
A dedicated DSP mix can include presenter microphones, media and remote participants. The loudspeaker and listening feeds can be routed independently where the system supports it.
Explore Q-SYS integration for processing and room-control workflows, and Dante audio networking for compatible network audio feeds.
For ongoing operational requirements, our AV maintenance and managed support page covers the wider support approach.
Review the room, equipment, user groups and desired listening experience.
Select audio feeds, channels, coverage and receiver provision.
Integrate the transmitter and check real listening devices in the agreed area.
Provide instructions and agree receiver management and support responsibilities.
Auracast broadcast audio is a one-way listening path. It does not provide a microphone return to a meeting, and accessibility requirements must be assessed for the particular building and project.
07 / Your questions answered
Auracast is a Bluetooth LE Audio broadcast capability that lets a transmitter send audio to multiple compatible receivers in range. Listeners select a broadcast rather than pair individually with the transmitter.
No. A Bluetooth version number or LE Audio claim alone does not establish Auracast reception. Check the exact model, receiver role, firmware and supported method for selecting a broadcast.
Compatible Auracast-enabled hearing aids can receive supported broadcasts. Joining may use a manufacturer app or compatible assistant. Other users may need a loan receiver with headphones or a neckloop for telecoil-equipped hearing aids.
The audio broadcast uses Bluetooth and does not require an internet connection. A professional transmitter may still use Ethernet for power, management or an incoming Dante audio feed.
Auracast is a broadcast, so it does not create a separate audio connection for each listener. There is no pairing-based listener limit; each compatible receiver must be within usable coverage.
Often, yes. A suitable transmitter can receive an audio feed from an existing mixer, processor or display. We assess output connections, audio routing, transmitter location and receiver needs before defining the upgrade.
Range and delay depend on the transmitter, configuration, building and receiver. Test the actual listening area and devices, especially where the listener can also hear loudspeakers or needs synchronisation with a screen.
It can complement a hearing loop and introduce direct listening for compatible personal devices. Existing telecoil users still need a suitable listening route. System selection and any accessibility requirements should be assessed for the particular project.
Yes, suitable systems can broadcast separately supplied interpretation or audio-description feeds. Auracast carries the audio; an interpreter or separate service must create that content.
It can distribute a listening mix that includes presenter microphones and remote participants. Auracast broadcast audio is one way and does not provide the listener's microphone return to the meeting.
Auracast supports encrypted broadcasts with a broadcast code where implemented. Radio coverage can extend beyond walls, so access control and the full AV security design need to match the use of the room.
The main factors are coverage, channel count, analogue or Dante integration, transmitters, loan receivers, charging, cabling, signage, commissioning and staff training. Share floor plans, existing equipment and intended uses for an itemised scope.
