The Project
Sydney Park Hotel required an audiovisual upgrade capable of supporting the changing demands of a busy multi-level hospitality venue in Newtown.
Background music, major sporting events, rooftop entertainment, private functions, presentations and venue promotions all place different demands on audio, displays and operating controls.
Masters Voice Technology and ACCAV designed the solution around each operating area, allowing the bar, dining spaces, rooftop and function areas to work independently while remaining part of one coordinated technology system.
Everyday Venue Operation
The operating workflow was designed around familiar venue decisions: choose a source, choose an area, choose the required screen or sound level and let the integrated system handle the routing.
Staff can select background music, live-sport audio, Bluetooth, AUX, DJ inputs or wireless microphone audio according to how an area is being used.
Different areas can operate at different levels and with different sources, allowing the atmosphere to suit each part of the property.
Live sport, television, digital signage and event content can be routed to selected displays instead of every screen being locked to one source.
Staff manage familiar venue functions without needing access to processors, amplifiers, network hardware or complex equipment racks.
Integrated Venue Audio
Hospitality audio has to perform differently from area to area. A dining space may require comfortable background music while the main bar needs greater impact during a major sporting event.
Sydney Park Hotel's zoned audio system allows nominated areas to operate with appropriate source selection, volume, processing and loudspeaker coverage.
BSS digital signal processing coordinates the audio system, with Lab Gruppen amplification driving the required venue zones and AUDAC loudspeakers providing discreet commercial sound coverage.
AV over IP Distribution
Network-based video distribution gives the venue far greater flexibility than tying individual sources to individual displays.
Live sport can be routed through the bar while other displays show television, entertainment content, promotions or event material.
This makes the venue easier to adapt during different trading periods without requiring staff to physically reconnect source equipment.
