When staff cannot hear an announcement or a bell is missed in one part of your campus, you need to know why. A School PA Health Check helps you understand the problem, decide what needs attention and plan your next step with confidence.

Does this sound familiar at your school?

You may hear the bell clearly in administration while a classroom block misses it. Announcements might reach the playground but become difficult to understand during lunch. Or your system may work day to day, yet only one staff member knows how to change the timetable.

You do not need to diagnose the technical fault before contacting us. Tell us what your staff are experiencing, where it happens and when you first noticed it. We will use that information to agree an assessment suited to your campus.

Bells are being missed

Let us know whether the problem affects one area, one timetable or the whole school. This helps us focus the investigation.

Announcements are unclear

Tell us where speech is difficult to understand and whether the problem changes with background noise or the person making the announcement.

You are unsure what to replace

If you are considering an upgrade, an assessment can help establish which existing equipment may remain useful and what needs further investigation.

What happens during your Health Check?

Before the visit, we agree the areas to assess, the fee, access arrangements and suitable testing times. We plan around your classes, examinations and school procedures.

Depending on the agreed scope, we review:

  • Your normal and alternate bell timetables, holiday settings and reported faults.
  • The paging microphone, controls and accessible equipment that carry announcements to your speakers.
  • Speech and bell coverage in agreed classrooms, buildings and outdoor areas.
  • How your staff select zones, change schedules and identify the active timetable.
  • Available equipment records, configuration backups and network dependencies.

We coordinate any priority-message checks with your authorised staff. We record areas we cannot access and functions we cannot test, so you know the limits of the findings.

What will your school receive?

Your report gives your leadership, administration and facilities teams a common starting point for deciding what to do next.

A record of your system

An equipment inventory and zone or coverage summary for the assessed areas, supported by available photographs and records.

Findings in priority order

Observed faults, their operational impact and any testing limitations, with immediate repairs distinguished from planned improvements.

Practical next steps

Recommendations on what to retain, repair, replace or investigate further, with the information needed to prepare a priced proposal.

We explain the findings in terms of the decisions your school needs to make. If a repair is appropriate, we define that work. If a larger upgrade is warranted, our school PA upgrade budget guide helps you prepare for the funding discussion.

How can you prepare for the visit?

A few details can make the assessment more useful. Send your campus plan if available, photographs of the equipment and a short list of affected areas. Examples such as “Block B missed the 11 am bell on Tuesday” are particularly helpful.

Nominate an administration contact and, where relevant, your IT contact. Let us know about access restrictions, upcoming building works and the decision you need the report to support. We arrange system access through your approved process; please do not send passwords in an enquiry.

Your questions answered

Can you assess our system if MVT did not install it?

Yes. We first confirm your equipment, available documentation and access. Some proprietary or unsupported systems may limit what we can test or change; we explain those limitations before agreeing the work.

Will we need to replace everything?

The recommendation depends on the findings. Equipment may be retained where its condition, compatibility and coverage suit your requirements.

Are repairs included in the assessment?

Repairs, parts and configuration changes require an agreed scope and your authorisation. Your Health Check proposal identifies what is included and what would need a separate quote.

Does this include emergency-system certification?

The Health Check is an operational PA and bell assessment. Fire or emergency-warning certification and specialist acoustic measurements are separate services and must be specifically scoped.

Tell us what your school is experiencing

Start with your school’s location, the affected areas and a description of the problem. We will confirm the assessment scope and fee before you book.
