St Gertrude’s Catholic School - PCIT Clinic
Masters Voice Technology delivered a purpose-built Parent-Child Interaction Therapy AV system for St Gertrude’s Catholic School, supporting secure treatment room monitoring, clear speech capture, discreet real-time coaching, session recording and clinical review. The school-based solution combines cameras, ceiling microphones, video decoding, in-ear monitoring and recording technology to support supervision, training, documentation and calm, natural parent-child interaction during therapy sessions onsite.

Project Challenge
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy requires clinicians to observe and listen to parent-child interaction without being physically present in the treatment room. The therapist must also be able to provide discreet, real-time coaching to the parent without interrupting the natural flow of the session.
The school required a purpose-built AV system that could:
- Capture clear video and speech throughout the treatment room
- Allow clinicians to monitor sessions from a separate observation space
- Provide private coaching through an in-ear receiver
- Record audio and video for supervision, training and clinical review
- Remain simple for school and therapy staff to operate
- Support a calm, professional environment for parents and children
During a session, the parent and child interact in one room while the therapist observes from a separate space and provides discreet coaching to the parent. PCIT International describes this live coaching model as a key feature of the therapy, with the therapist observing the parent and child and providing real-time feedback through an earpiece.
A Purpose-Built AV Solution for Observation, Coaching and Clinical Review
Purpose-built audio visual technology allows clinicians to observe, listen and provide discreet coaching during Parent-Child Interaction Therapy without disrupting the session. At St Gertrude’s Catholic School, Masters Voice Technology delivered an integrated PCIT clinic AV system connecting the treatment room, observation space and recording environment into one practical workflow. The result is a calm, professional therapy space supporting live observation, real-time parent coaching, clinical supervision and session review.
Wisenet cameras and Audio-Technica ceiling microphones capture the parent-child interaction inside the treatment room.

The therapist monitors clear video and room audio from a separate observation space without entering or interrupting the session.
The therapist provides discreet real-time guidance to the parent through a MIPRO bodypack and in-ear monitoring system.

Session audio and video can be recorded using the Blackmagic HyperDeck for supervision, training, documentation and clinical review.
The Solution
The completed system created a practical clinical environment in which therapists can observe, communicate and review sessions without interfering with natural parent-child interaction.
Key outcomes included:
- Clear treatment-room video from the observation space
- Accurate speech capture across the therapy room
- Private real-time coaching between therapist and parent
- Reliable recording for supervision and staff development
- A simple operating workflow for clinical and school staff
- A calmer, less intrusive experience for parents and children
The technology remains in the background, allowing clinicians to focus on therapy rather than operating equipment.
Technology Integrated Across the PCIT Environment
The purpose-built PCIT AV system combines Wisenet cameras and video decoding, Audio-Technica ceiling microphones and smart mixing, MIPRO bodypack and in-ear monitoring, and Blackmagic HyperDeck recording. Together, these technologies support clear observation, accurate speech capture, discreet real-time parent coaching and reliable session recording for supervision, training and clinical review. he PCIT clinic AV system combined video observation, ceiling microphone audio capture, discreet in-ear therapist communication and reliable session recording. Each technology element was selected to support the therapy workflow, allowing clinicians to observe, coach and review sessions without disrupting the parent-child interaction.
Professional AV brands were selected to match the clinical workflow of the PCIT clinic, with Wisenet supporting video observation, Audio-Technica capturing clear room audio, MIPRO enabling discreet in-ear coaching, and Blackmagic providing reliable recording for supervision and review.
Wisenet cameras and video decoding support secure treatment room monitoring, allowing clinicians to observe parent-child interaction from a separate space. High-resolution video helps clinicians view behaviour, body language and interaction clearly without interrupting the therapy session.

Audio-Technica ceiling microphones and smart mixing help capture clear speech across the treatment room. This supports accurate listening during therapy sessions and provides reliable audio for clinical review, supervision, training and documentation.
MIPRO bodypack and in-ear monitoring equipment enables discreet real-time coaching, allowing clinicians to guide the parent during the session without disrupting natural parent-child interaction.

Blackmagic HyperDeck recording captures session audio and video for supervision, review, training and documentation. This provides the clinical team with reliable playback material for review, staff development and ongoing quality improvement.
